Dr. Joseph F. Burke, Jr. specializes in medical and surgical retina management. He is an expert in diabetic eye care management. In addition he utilizes the latest "No Stitch" cataract removal technique using topical eye drop anesthesia.
Dr. Burke is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Medical Association, Massachusetts Medical Society, and Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Burke attended college at Boston University and graduated with a BA degree in Biology. He attended John Hopkins University, School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD where he obtained his M.D. degree in 1972.

Dr Burke has clinical teaching appointments at Harvard and Tufts medical schools. He maintains staff privleges at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Charlton Memorial Hospital and St Anne's Hospital in Fall River, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and Tufts New England Eye Center in Boston. In 1990 Dr. Burke established his own private practice which is presently known as Southcoast Eye Care, Inc.

Dr. John E. Meehan is a fellowship trained ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical glaucoma management. He is an expert in the care of complicated glaucoma cases including filtering surgeries with antimetabolites and the placement of glaucoma drainage devices. In addition he utilizes the latest "No Stitch" cataract removal technique using topical eye drop anesthesia.
Dr. Meehan attended college at Bucknell University and graduated with a BA degree in Biology. He went to medical school at Hahneman University in Philadelphia, PA where he obtained his M.D. degree in 1996. After finishing his internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego and ophthalmology residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, he completed a glaucoma fellowship under Robert N. Weinreb M.D. at the University of California San Diego Shiley Eye Center.
Dr. Meehan is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Meehan has been in private practice since 2001 and moved to Dartmouth, MA in 2005 to join Southcoast Eye Care. In 2007 Dr. Meehan committed in full partnership to the doctors and staff at Southcoast Eye Care.
Dr. Meehan maintains staff privleges at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford and Charlton Memorial Hospital and St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. Dr. Meehan resides in Dartmouth, MA with his wife and children.

Dr. Pamela Castro Loerinc specializes in general ophthalmology including comprehensive eye exams for adults and children and the treatment of medical eye diseases. She previously practiced ophthalmology in the Greater New Bedford area for fifteen years.
Dr. Castro Loerinc is a board certified fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She attended college at Brown University and medical school at the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Castro Loerinc completed her ophthalmology residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Elias Reichel's areas of expertise include both medical and surgical vitreoretinal disorders. His surgical interests include surgery for macular disorders, retinal detachment, and trauma of the posterior segment. He has a special interest in hereditary retinal degenerations, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Reichel is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Also a member of the Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Reichel is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in Retina/Vitreous Surgery and Medical Retina. He attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he obtained his M.D. degree in 1986. He completed his residency at Mass Eye & Ear Infirmary. Dr. Reichel completed Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery fellowship at Tufts University/New England Med Center.
Dr. Reichel served as a Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Reichel is currently the Vice Chair for Research and Education, Department of Ophthalmology at New England Eye Center, Boston, MA. He is also the Director of the Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery Service and the Director of the Vitreoretinal Fellowship program at New England Eye Center. Dr. Reichel visits our office on Tuesdays.
Dr. Reichel joined Southcoast Eye Care in 2006.

She specializes in primary eye care, contact lens fittings, treating eye infections and assessing the health of the eyes.
She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Mass Society of Optometrists.

Dr. Olson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Mass Society of Optometrists.
Dr. Olson received a BA in Biology at Assumption College in Worchester, MA. He continued His education at New England College of Optometry where he obtained his O.D. degree in 1989.
Dr. Olson has his own private practice in Brockton, MA. Dr. Olson visits our office twice a week.
Dr. Olson joined Southcoast Eye Care in 2004.
